The labour party now in government has made some very ambitious promises on LGBT rights prior to the last election. However in order to apply these policies the government needs to be aware of the number of people that fall within the LGBT demographic. The most obvious way to do this would be through the regular national census however this will not be possible according to government statistics spokesman James Shaw. While we aim to put pressure on the government to get it fixed we would like to organize a method of gathering the information we need through a people's census.
